Customs: Nationwide focus inspection in the catering industry
More than 1,000 employers were inspected and more than 8,000 people were interviewed during a nationwide targeted inspection of the hospitality industry on June 3, 2022.
Customs officials checked compliance with the statutory minimum wage under the Minimum Wage Act, adherence to social security obligations, the unlawful receipt of social benefits, compliance with the obligation to carry and present identification documents, and the residency status of foreign nationals employed by the company. More than 2,200 officers were involved in the operation.
170 criminal proceedings and 380 administrative offense proceedings were initiated immediately. Investigations are ongoing in 1,900 cases. Violations of the Minimum Wage Act were found in over 600 cases.
